About me

At the age of 11, I started playing the cello, attracted by the warm, expressive sounds of this beautiful instrument. My passion for the cello led me to the Conservatory of Rotterdam, where I obtained my Master of Music. 

Since then, I have been a sought-after remplaçant with various professional orchestras in the Netherlands. You can regularly hear me play in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Residentie Orkest, as well as in choral accompaniments. I also have a great passion for chamber music. I play in various line-ups such as a piano duo, cello duo and cello octet. I have also participated in several chamber music festivals, such as the International Chamber Music Festival in Utrecht, organised by violinist Janine Jansen. 

I enjoyed playing in the Lagos Ensemble, Cello Octet Conjunto Ibérico (now Cello Octet Amsterdam) and the Aeolus Cello Quartet. I love sharing my passion for ensemble playing with my students. Besides playing in orchestras, I am active as a cello teacher in the Bollenstreek and the Haarlem region, and at various music schools, including Purmerend. 

In addition, I organize chamber music courses for string players under naam Alle Streken, where the fun of playing together is central.
