Student concert, ensemble weeks & competitions
In addition to regular cello lessons, I offer my students various inspiring opportunities throughout the year to gain stage experience, play together, and deepen their musical development. These activities are not only educational but also incredibly fun and motivating!
Student concert in the Lutheran Church (Haarlem)
Once a year, I organize a festive afternoon recital in the beautiful Lutheran Church, Haarlem. During this concert, students have the opportunity to perform a piece of their choice, accompanied by a professional pianist. This is a wonderful opportunity to:
- To show what you have learned
- Gain stage experience in a warm, supportive atmosphere
- To play for family, friends and fellow students
The student recital is a highlight of the school year and a valuable experience for both beginning and advanced cellists.
Ensemble weeks with violin students
In collaboration with violin teacher Marcus Vliegen, I organize the annual ensemble weeks. During these weeks, students are divided into ensembles based on age and level. What can you expect?
- Playing together in an ensemble with other string players
- Attend all lessons with your ensemble members to practice and grow together
- Learning to listen, coordinate and collaborate within a group
- A festive closing concert in which all ensembles perform
These weeks are a great way to experience the joy of playing together and deepen your musical skills.
Competition participation for advanced students
For advanced students, I offer guidance in participating in music competitions. This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and take your playing to the next level. During the preparation, we work intensively on:
- Technical refinement
- Musical interpretation
- Playing together with a pianist
A piano is available at various lesson locations, so that we can practice realistically and you become familiar with playing together during a performance or competition.
